Responsibilities:
As an addition to the employer's Applications Engineering team, the engineer will work closely with its internal and external customers through pre-sale, current and post-sale support.
The engineer will provide technical support and training to customers, OEM program participants and Japanese technology partners.
This position is based out of Santa Clara, CA.
Primary responsibilities include:
*Act as a resource to clients and sales force in providing assistance and information in resolving technical product issues, training, interfacing and general test floor support.
*Orchestrate information flow between the employer and customers and partner companies to ensure the customer receives a successful test solution.
*Work with sales staff, customers and partner companies to secure design information and document customer standards.
Other responsibilities include:
*Layout/draft contactors, test components and other mechanical devices per design and drafting standards.
*Assist other Field Service/Applications Engineers.
Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Mechatronic/Electromechanical), Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent.
Required skill(s):
This position requires daily contact with manufacturers of integrated circuits, device handlers, testers and load boards.
*5-10 years experience in final test experience for the semiconductor industry;
*maintaining/troubleshooting ATE test equipment (pick and place as well as gravity fed handler experience);
*Strong hands-on mechanical background with excellent analytical troubleshooting skills; basic electrical knowledge required;
*Experience with CAD; 3D CAD experience preferred;
*Proficient with interpreting mechanical drawings;
*Must be able to speak and write fluently in Japanese and English.
At least 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required.
